Xplan Advice Process and Implementation Specialist
Own the business-process side of an Xplan transformation — mapping workflows, redesigning templates and training advisers. Iress employment history is mandatory.
About the Role
This role owns the business-process side of the Xplan transformation. It maps existing advice processes, designs best-practice workflows, removes manual effort and trains advisers, paraplanners and administrators on the result. It works alongside the Xplan Technical Architect, who owns the platform build. Together the two roles cover ground that is extremely rare to find in a single person.
About the Engagement
Most of the cost in running Xplan badly is not technical — it is process: advisers re-entering data, paraplanners rebuilding SOAs by hand, reviews that take days instead of hours, and compliance steps bolted on after the fact instead of built into the workflow. This role owns that work. It sits close to advisers and operations staff, translates their day-to-day friction into workflow and template changes, and trains the business on the result.
Key Responsibilities
- Map end-to-end advice workflows as they actually run today — not as documented
- Identify where manual effort, duplication or delay sits in onboarding, reviews, SOA and ROA production, and insurance advice
- Redesign these into best-practice workflows that use Xplan's automation rather than work around it
- Build and maintain advice templates, word merge templates and compliance templates
- Configure dynamic content so templates adapt correctly to client and advice type
- Own SOA and ROA wizard configuration from the process side
- Train advisers, paraplanners and administrators on new and changed processes
- Build and maintain Xplan operating procedures and process documentation
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years employed directly by Iress working specifically on Xplan (10+ years strongly preferred)
- Direct involvement in Xplan implementation, consulting, training, support or enterprise client delivery, with emphasis on advice process and business consulting
- Expert knowledge of client engagement processes, advice production and the full workflow from fact find through to SOA or ROA delivery
- Able to redesign and optimise advice workflows without vendor assistance
- Experience working with large financial planning groups and dealer groups, including change management across adviser teams
- This is a mandatory bar. A candidate without direct Iress employment history does not meet the requirement.
Highly Desirable
- Former Iress Solution Consultant, Senior Business Consultant or Implementation Specialist
- Former Iress Enterprise Consultant or Professional Services Consultant
- Experience supporting AFSLs with more than 50 advisers
- Exposure to AI-enabled advice processes
- Experience running adviser training programs or change management rollouts across a dealer group
